Greek shoegaze/dream-pop quartet The Velvoids returns with a brand new single, available for listening via all streaming services. While You Shine is their first single this year and the first composition since 2020. This song follows an already paved path of their previous works, but it also delivers some innovations in terms of songwriting, composing, and production. As you already know, The Velvoids are known for their calm, relaxing, soothing music that usually carries a profoundly cathartic ambiance. That’s the case with While You Shine, which bursts with half-time rhythmic sequences, enormously catchy warm-sounding basslines, beautiful chord progressions, and exceptional vocal harmonies. You’ll also notice some piano melodies and accentuations during the entire composition that unquestionably enhances While You Shine on an entirely new level.

These folks are not joking around with their music. Their ideas and musicianship go beyond comprehension many times. There are many details and surprises included along the way. It’s nearly mindblowing how the entire band articulates throughout the song and how their musicianship flawlessly pairs during each segment. Besides the fundamentals of shoegaze and dream pop music, you’ll notice other sonic ingredients like indie, indie rock, indie pop, psychedelic rock, alternative, and cinematic ambient. The Velvoid fully stacked this number with everything you ever needed from a shoegaze/dream-pop song, but don’t be surprised if you stumble upon other sonic delicacies that define some of the best songs on an indie/alternative rock scene. While You Shine will end up on your playlists, and you will gladly return to it every time when you need some cathartic, ear-appealing, beautiful music. The single is available on all streaming platforms.
