Following their explosive 2025 releases Pony (feat. Heaven Unknown), Heaven and Sober, and a string of high-octance performances across the UK, Bristol-based IOTA are unveiling their most poignant and philosophically driven single yet – Kaibo.
Emerging from the gritty underground of the Bristol DIY scene, IOTA, comprised of Jodie Robinson (Vocals), Josef Parkes (Guitar), Joe Dean (Guitar), Sam Mattison (Bass), and James Luker (Drums) have long been celebrated for their ability to turn internal upheaval into stadium-sized soundscapes. With Kaibo, the band shifts their focus from the external noise of the industry toward a deeper, more personal quest for authenticity.
The song is a track born from the realisation that the traditional makers of success; status, material gain, and social hierarchy, often fail to deliver the fulfillment they promise. As these societal illusions dissolve with age, the song explores the vacuum they leave behind: a world that can suddenly feel overwhelming, empty, and cold.
However, Kaibo finds its heart in the titular concept: a mental sanctuary where the complexities of the modern “hustle” are stripped away, leaving only honesty and safety.
“We’re taught to chase things that don’t actually hold any weight once you catch them,” says frontwoman Jodie Robinson. “Kaibo’ is about that tension between the life we’re expected to lead and the place where we actually feel at home. It’s a reminder that who you are matters infinitely more than what you own.”
Having previously worked with Idles’ Lee Kiernan and award-winning producer Sam Bloor, IOTA continues to refine their signature “polished yet relentless” sound. Kaibo showcases the band’s mastery of dynamic shifts, where Robinson’s emotive grit moves seamlessly from vulnerable whispers to the band’s trademark distorted climaxes. Fans of Deftones, Superhaven, and No Doubt will find a familiar yet fresh resonance in this latest offering.
