SECT is back! One of the most important vegan straight edge bands decided to treat us with another great LP release called Blood Of The Beasts. For those who might don’t know about this band, SECT is comprised of some eminent underground musicians who are pretty much active on the underground scene for a couple of decades. Current line up consists of Chris Colohan (Cursed, Burning Love, Left For Dead), guitarists James Chang (Catharsis, Undying) and Scott Crouse (Earth Crisis, The Path Of Resistance), bassist Steve Hart (Day Of Suffering), and drummer Andy Hurley (Racetraitor, The Damned Things), so you know what to expect by taking a small glimpse at the impressive discography of each one of them. Blood Of The Beasts is eerie, dark, depressive, chaotic and caustic outlook at the current world events, manmade mistakes done in our own backyard, the harm caused to all the living creatures by exploiting them through animal agriculture, by abusing animals and destroying the ecosystem, but also the large portion of the lyrics are dealing with current worldwide political climates. Their mixture of powerviolence, hardcore punk, and metalcore is such a good platform to express all the feelings about those topics, each tune is a pure rager packed with lots of sludgy riffs, sheer brutality, fast rhythms and killer vocals which will instantly melt your brain down. Like their previous releases, Blood Of The Beasts is also well produced to fit the modern hardcore standards and it showcases all the possible skills these fine musicians have implemented in their brand new album. Blood Of The Beasts is available in black or clear vinyl at SECT’s Bandcamp page.
