Rising indie artist Marlhy is ready to share her highly anticipated debut album, the thoughts that keep me up at night, set for release on March 28, 2025 on all major streaming platforms.
With a raw and relatable collection of tracks, Marlhy dives deep into the emotional chaos of entering your 20s. From managing the complexities of adulthood and evolving friendships to navigating a career full of ups and downs, the album is a personal exploration of how the uncertainty of this life stage can often feel overwhelming. the thoughts that keep me up at night captures Marlhy’s journey with a mix of eclectic alt rock and alt-pop sounds, each track offering a new layer of emotional depth and introspection.
“I wanted this album to speak to anyone who’s ever questioned themselves as they stepped into the unknown,” Marlhy says. “Entering my 20s was a huge wake-up call. For the first time in my life, I didn’t have all the answers, and that was a hard pill to swallow. The pressure to ‘figure it out’ when everyone else seems to be moving forward was intense, but writing this album gave me clarity. I want my music to help others who feel the same way find peace in uncertainty and embrace the journey.”
Tracks like “young and naïve” represent the carefree party days of youth, reflecting on the shift from living in the moment with abandon to a more mature, introspective perspective. In “you.”, Marlhy’s ethereal voice explores letting go of relationships that no longer serve a purpose, while heavier tracks like “: black” confront the darker side of love and the struggle to heal from heartbreak.
Throughout the album’s creation, Marlhy worked with a talented team of collaborators, including Michael Kamerman, Jordyn Kane, Christian Fiore, Olivia Cargile, Aaron Blackmar, Kella Armitage, Fran Hall, and Cameron Walker. The album was co produced with Michael Kamerman, Aaron Blackmar, and Christian Fiore.
Marlhy reflects on the creative process, saying, “When I was younger, I thought I had my path figured out. I was always so focused and driven by my love for music. But once I hit my 20s, I started questioning everything. It’s like the rules suddenly changed, and I had to let go of the idea of controlling everything. Writing this album helped me realize that there’s something to be said about allowing life to naturally guide you where it’s meant to go, rather than trying to force the outcomes that you think are right in the moment. I hope this album helps others feel like they’re not alone in their own struggles.”
Marlhy is an emerging artist known for her unique fusion of indie pop and alternative rock, grounded in her background as a drummer. Her music features introspective lyrics, emotive themes, and a sound that blends mellow acoustic elements with atmospheric production. Marlhy’s ethereal voice and cinematic approach to storytelling have earned her a loyal following among listeners who appreciate personal, mood driven tracks.
