After a critically acclaimed debut single, Penryn-based garage rock group KLEN returns with another excellent number. The Pipers follow the steps of its predecessor but also deliver many innovations in terms of structure, arrangements, chord progressions, melodies, harmonies, and rhythmic and vocal performance. Perhaps KLEN almost solely relies upon the fundamentals of a garage rock sound, but don’t be surprised if you stumble upon other complementary music genres. You’ll notice some of the finest properties of indie rock, art-rock, rock’n’roll, post-punk, and alternative. However, KLEN sound so fresh and unique, so you will be surprised how they incorporated all these elements together.

The Pipers continuously levitate somewhere between raw and ear-appealing ambiance. KLEN thoroughly planned each sonic maneuver, so there are abrasive, progressive, catchy chord progressions involved, alongside detailed warm-sounding basslines and profoundly dynamic rhythmic acrobatics. The entire band keeps their orchestrations as progressive as possible, with a touch of free improvisation and experimentation involved in the entire process. Another thing that will catch your attention is the vocal performance, which is also unique and perfectly fits with the remainder of the band. The Pipers offer everything you ever needed from the garage, indie, and art rock, so give it a listen. You won’t be disappointed. The single is available for listening to on all streaming platforms.
