Wow! As soon as this composition has started, I had a strange feeling someone threw me a couple of decades back when this particular style was quite popular. I cannot remember when I heard an artist or a band that came this close to early 2000s emo and skate rock like 2/14. These guys are not joking around with their sound at all. You’ll immediately notice that their latest single bursts with that recognizable late 90s to early 2000s atmosphere, enhanced by impressive harmonious chants, ear-appealing chord progressions, powerful riffs, and dynamic rhythmic sequences. Escalator is one of those songs you surely don’t want to miss if you’re profoundly into the beforementioned genres.
Besides emo and skate rock, 2/14 also included other genres into their already luxurious sound. You may notice some pop-punk, alternative rock, indie rock, but the main focus remains on emo and skate rock. Escalator sounds like someone put this tune in the time capsule in the past and sent it through a teleport machine right into the present day. It’s a ridiculously rad emo song that will unquestionably blow you away. You can listen to Escalator on all streaming platforms. Don’t miss this one!
