County Durham, UK indie-rock group Vice Killer recently released a new single. Heroine comes right after the Alone In This World, a four-song extended play published this year. The group tried to write a B-side for one of their latest singles but eventually ended up with a piece of sonic artistry that sounds catchy, energetic, and ear-appealing. Vice Killer experiments with several music genres to achieve the desired sound. You may notice how the sixties garage sound inspired them to write, compose and record this powerful song, but here are also some other ingredients that lurk around from scratch to finish.
The band also explores eighties indie rock, nineties alternative rock, classic rock’n’roll but doesn’t escape from contemporary trends either. Therefore, at some points, you’ll notice the additional layers of distortion that pervade a calmy, soothing, cathartic garage rock atmosphere. Vice Killer is unquestionably inspired by so many artists who practice the same type of sound, but this band sounds fresh and unique, which the global alter/indie scene certainly needs right now. Heroine is available for listening on all streaming platforms. Don’t sleep on this one!
