Leecher – Change Of Seasons

Leecher are punk rock band from San Jose, California and Change Of The Seasons is their latest album which has been published couple od days ago through their bandcamp page. There’s a lot of things going on in their music, with clearly a lot of musical influences involved into each track. Band members obviously possess certain skills and they’re not afraid to show it through various musical styles such as melodic punk rock, reggae, ska and good old plain rock’n’roll, proving that there’s more than meets the eye. Influences are hearable right off with the first riffs and it’s more than clear Leecher are fans of a music played by their older colleagues such as Tilt, NOFX, Good Riddance, Mad Caddies plus rest of the Fat Wreck Chords roster, but hopefully I’m not mistaken if I mention some grungy elements in their music which reminded me of Smashing Pumpkins, Queens Of The Stone Age, Soundgarden…etc. Vocals are much closer to punk rock genre than grunge and generally speaking, it suit well to this kind of music and all the background vocals are very well recorded and implemented into the tracks till perfection. Change Of The Seasons proves that newer bands like Leecher still have a lot to say lyrically and musically today, so punk rock as a genre is still relevant in 2019. Album is available for 6$ at Leecher bandcamp page, followed with great cover totally made in a japanese art style and I advise you to download it and support work of this great band if you’re not obsessed with physical releases. Otherwise, take a listen, share the link on social medias with your friends and enjoy in Change Of The Seasons, because these guys deserve it.
