Ahead of the release of Materials, Seb Brun, aka Ar Ker, unveils “Copper#1”, the first single from his forthcoming second solo album.
“Copper#1” opens the album’s chapter devoted to copper and electricity. Recorded live, the track brings together physical percussion and radical electronics, with Brun using an expanded drum kit equipped with custom-built circuits to let feedback, saturation and resonance shape the rhythm in real time. The result is a raw, physical tension where shamanic intensity meets industrial sound.
Due January 8, 2027 on Carton Records, Materials is conceived as a single composition unfolding across three movements, exploring maple wood, bronze and copper as both physical materials and sonic forces. Entirely performed live, the album was created with an expanded drum kit incorporating piezo microphones, transducers, modular synthesizers and custom electronics.
Following his self-titled debut released in 2020, Materials further develops Seb Brun’s distinctive approach to experimental percussion, electroacoustic music and radical electronics. The project treats the drum kit not as a timekeeping instrument, but as a generator of tension, instability and energy, where improvisation, feedback and electronic transformation continuously reshape the performance.
Seb Brun / Ark Ker will be on tour in Austria, Poland, France and Czech Republic in October and November 2026.
