Paris-based post-hardcore band Depuis l’Abîme recently dropped a powerful double-single release, featuring the tracks “Santiago” and “La Dernière Guerre,” on June 26, 2026. The specific release date was chosen intentionally to honor the birthday of the late Chilean president, Salvador Allende.
The first track, “Santiago,” serves as an optimistic, hopeful homage to Allende’s socialist Chile and other historic left-wing movements. The song is accompanied by a music video directed by Juliette “Antigone,” the band’s live keyboardist, and features a standout saxophone guest appearance by Arnaud Tomasini. In stark contrast, “La Dernière Guerre” offers a much darker, dramatic edge. Taking a harsh look at Western imperialism, the track features emotionally raw violin work, again performed by Antigone. Both tracks are propelled by drummer Dominik Schmid’s intense groove. Originating as a solo screamo project in 2020, Depuis l’Abîme continues to evolve into a thrilling full-band experience.
