The Novi Sad-based quartet Milovan has burst onto the scene with their debut single, “Ljubav“ (“Love”). The track offers a first taste of their upcoming debut studio album, set for an autumn release under the independent labels Geenger Records and Pop Depresija. The entire record was captured by Uroš Milkić at Out There Studio this past April, with Milkić also handling mixing and mastering duties. “Ljubav” is available everywhere, stream it now across all major digital platforms.
“Ljubav” straddles two worlds: it is a stadium anthem powered by distorted guitars and a roaring wall of sound, yet it remains the kind of intimate track you listen to alone in your room while “silently aching.” Ivana’s vocals are powerful, commanding, and beautifully raw, while the song itself unfolds like a Ramones-esque mantra, a reflection on the toxic, unrequited love we often find ourselves trapped in.
While Milovan is a fresh face in the music scene, its members are seasoned musicians rather than bright-eyed youths. Based in Novi Sad, the band has been tearing up the live circuit since mid-2025, blending elements of punk, garage rock, and various other subgenres. Ivana and Bojan spearhead the lyrics and vocals, while the entire lineup (Ivana, Endi, Bojan, and Vuk) collaborates on the music. Through their songwriting, they pull no punches, unapologetically addressing the issues that move them, the frustrations that plague them, and the moments that bring them joy.
Remarkably, Milovan managed a double-digit number of live shows before even dropping their first official single. Their momentum shows no signs of slowing down this summer, with upcoming festival appearances locked in for Fran Fest on June 27th and SAWA Fest in Županja on July 16th.
