Incorporating elements of both ’60s psychedelia and the ’90s alternative and shoegaze scenes, Las Robertas has developed a lush, dreamy brand of fuzzed-out psych rock that sounds simultaneously nostalgic and of-the-moment. Citing influences like The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Lush, Ride, and Chapterhouse — who they shared a stage with earlier this year — the band’s upcoming release explores themes of living in the present, overcoming fears, and reaching a higher spiritual version of the self.
For a first taste of the album, Las Robertas has shared lead single “Everything I Wanted To Be,” along with a video directed by Madrid-based artist Juan Alvarez Santos (aka Arma Blancx), which you can watch below.
All We Need Is Now is a celebration of Las Robertas’ home country, with artwork by Costa Rican mixed media artist Juliana Quesada that features a Morpho butterfly, a national symbol of Costa Rica representing evolution and living in the present. The album was recorded in San José by Adrián Poveda and mixed & mastered by Estanislao Lopez in Buenos Aires.
Las Robertas will be touring Europe and Latin America later this year in support of the release.
