After the critically acclaimed full-length release named Sunshine and the series of singles such as Movin’ On, Delivered, On & On, Duke Sukem, Do You Trust Me, Diablo, Tell Your Friends, FLT DDY, and Midnight Calling, Canadian group The Hillties returns with another exceptional track that will unquestionably appeal to all the fans of indie music. The Hillties are pros in writing, composing, and recording mesmerizing compositions based on the fundamentals of the beforementioned music genre. However, Feel It also showcases how some other complementary music genres flawlessly work together with an indie base. You’ll notice some of the finest properties of indie pop, classic pop, soul, soft rock, and alternative lurking around in the mix, but don’t be surprised if you stumble on other sonic ingredients along the way.
Feel It bursts with so many qualities that it’s nearly impossible to grasp them all in only one listening. It’s an enormously catchy number with super-calm verses and highly addictive choruses. These folks will almost immediately hypnotize you with their extremely progressive musicianship based upon cleverly assembled key leads, soothing chord progressions, complex basslines, and profoundly detailed rhythmic performance. Still, the chorus showcases an entirely different sonic universe consisting of energetic rhythmic structures, perfectly synchronized riffs and low-end tones, various guitar accentuations, and key ambiances. The lead vocal harmonies flawlessly match all these orchestrations. The singer carries at least 50% of harmony, and without him, this song wouldn’t sound this good. There are also segments where the entire band explores the fundamentals of progressive rock music, so these guys are not joking around with their music at all. Feel It is a proggy indie number with pop sensibilities that will instantly end up on your playlist. The single is available on all streaming platforms.
