French guitar-and-drums duo announce late October 2026 tour across France, Belgium and Luxembourg in support of their latest double album Stadium, released earlier this year via Computer Students™
After two decades away, French experimental rock duo Chevreuil return to the road this October with Stadium, their first new album in twenty years.
Chevreuil was formed in Nantes, France in 1998 by Julien F. and Tony C. They approached the idea of a band as a performative art installation — a self-contained, sculptural device for sound, space, and motion rather than a conventional rock ensemble. Tony’s guitar runs through four amplifiers positioned around Julien’s unamplified drum kit, creating a live quadraphonic environment where rhythm, resonance and movement become part of the composition.
Julien and Tony, respectively, in their parlance, play “magnetic drums” and “magnetic guitar,” an analogy for their livewire, one-on-one chemistry, where the music seems to fall together by way of natural forces.
Between 1998 and 2006, the duo released Sport, Ghetto Blaster, Châteauvallon, Science and Capoëira, with the final three recorded by Steve Albini in Chicago.
Recorded in France in January 2025, Stadium came together after years without the two musicians playing together. The duo rebuilt the principles of their original setup while expanding their vocabulary with a reconfigured guitar capable of generating electronic timbres. Across sixteen pieces, the album draws on magnetism, radioactivity, astrometry, barometric oscillations and the music of the spheres, while remaining rooted in a strictly live and self-contained recording process.
