Bay Area indie-rock project Everything But The Everything is entering a new era.
What began as bassist, songwriter, and producer Izzy The Gent’s collaborative recording project has evolved into a full band, with Sophia Prise and Tobias Hawkins now serving as the group’s official vocalists. The band’s latest single, “Hollow Heart,” arriving July 10 on all major streaming platforms, marks the beginning of this new chapter.
Built around bass-driven indie rock, post-punk influences, and atmospheric new wave textures, “Hollow Heart” showcases the chemistry between the newly expanded lineup while maintaining the melodic, emotionally rich songwriting that has defined Everything But The Everything from the start.
While past releases often featured a rotating cast of collaborators, “Hollow Heart” represents something different: a true band effort. Every member contributed creatively to the song’s development, helping shape both its sound and emotional direction.
“This feels like the natural evolution of Everything But The Everything,” says Izzy The Gent. “What started as a collaborative project has grown into a real band with a shared creative vision. Sophia and Tobias bring so much personality and emotion to the music, and this song reflects what happens when everyone contributes their voice to the process.”
Produced by acclaimed Bay Area musician and producer Rex Shelverton, “Hollow Heart” features Sophia Prise and Tobias Hawkins on vocals, Andy Lund and Ian Dowed on guitars, Cody Rhodes on drums, and Izzy The Gent on bass.
Rhodes, known for his work with Geographer and his participation in Metallica’s Helping Hands concert and album project, adds driving energy to the track, while the dual-vocal approach from Prise and Hawkins creates a dynamic interplay that has become central to the band’s evolving identity.
The release follows 2025’s A&B Sides Volume 3 and signals a shift toward a more unified band structure while preserving the collaborative spirit that first defined the project.
Fans will have several opportunities to experience the new lineup live this summer, with upcoming performances scheduled for:
