February 18, 2026 – Southern California garage rock outfit The High Curbs releases new single and music video “Promise,” featuring The Red Pears, out today via Lauren Records. The collaboration brings together two Inland Empire veterans whose paths first crossed nearly a decade ago playing backyard shows and DIY gigs around the region.
Slower and more melodic than their usual sound, “Promise” carries a quiet sense of melancholy reflecting on time passing, scenes changing, and the tension between growth and staying true to where you came from. Lines like “I drive past places where we used to play” feel less like nostalgia and more like a snapshot of old venues, houses, and moments frozen in memory, now slightly out of reach.
“It’s a song about remembering the roots that shaped you, even as everything around them changes,” says The High Curbs frontman Ed Moreno. Rather than chasing the past, “Promise” wrestles with what it means to move forward without losing yourself along the way.
Formed in 2013 in Southern California, The High Curbs have built a following in their local underground scene with a sound that blends garage rock intensity and punk energy. The current lineup features Ed Moreno on vocals and guitar, Kenny Huerta on bass, and Taylor Hecocks on guitar.
The High Curbs will be performing at Happy Daps Fest 4 at The Observatory in Santa Ana, CA March 7-8, 2026. Tickets are on sale now. The High Curbs will then embark on their North American tour this spring supporting The Red Pears and Together Pangea.
