Mirko Colombari – Citizens Of The War

“Citizens Of The War” is a recently released number by Italian singer-songwriter Mirko Colombari. It’s his first single this year and the first piece of work since 2012. This composition dives deep into the fundamentals of indie rock sound, but this particular style isn’t the only one you’ll stumble upon this ear-appealing journey. Quite the contrary, you’ll notice how contemporary, classic, alternative, and pop rock found their way into this fine piece of sonic artistry. These additional elements serve as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details that unquestionably uplift this composition on an entirely new level, while the artist remains loyal to the primary sonic direction.

You’ll immediately notice how Mirko Colombari‘s calm, soothing, relaxing, ethereal vocal harmonies emphasize the instrumentations in every segment. However, he skillfully levitates between low, mid, and high notes and decorates “Citizens Of The War” with finesse and precision. The cleverly arranged, flawlessly recorded, semi-distorted chord progressions and riffs serve as the perfect backdrop for his vocal maneuvers, while appropriate themes, leads, and solos enhance the presence of classic rock ambiance. The acoustic overture builds the atmosphere and keeps the listeners engaged until the electric guitars kick in. It’s also good to mention that the equally complex, vividly hearable, warm-sounding basslines support these sonic maneuvers with more than necessary heaviness, depth, and clarity. Also, “Citizens Of The War” wouldn’t sound so good without outstanding drumming performance based upon moderate, well-accentuated, skillfully arranged rhythmic sequences, beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics.

Mirko Colombari invested all his knowledge, experience, creativity, talent, ideas, and musicianship while writing, composing, recording, and producing “Citizens Of The War,” and the time and effort put into this exceptional pop-rock number is more than hearable from scratch to finish. His ability to construct and shape a song that simultaneously pays homage to the late eighties, early nineties, and contemporary rock music is nearly mindblowing, and artists capable of doing that are a rarity nowadays. You’ll immediately notice how he thoroughly planned even the tiniest details while working on the song’s structure, as every segment comes with more than impressive ideas and instrumentations that will appeal to true rock fans. His vocal delivery is sincere, confident, and perfectly balanced compared to the intricate orchestrations, but “Citizens Of The War” is still an easy-listening, mid-tempo number that will suit even the newbies to the genre. Mirko Colombari proves once again he’s an artist you should pay attention to, as his creative genius goes beyond comprehension many times during this song. The single is available on all streaming platforms. Don’t miss it!
