davvn – Care Less

davvn, a Nashville-based duo comprising McCall on vocals and Mike on guitar, showcase all their creativity, talent, ideas, and musicianship in their latest single, “Care Less.” Reminiscent of 2000s pop-punk, the track incorporates alternative, emo, indie rock, and skate rock elements, resulting in a meaningful, energetic, and catchy composition. With McCall’s commanding vocal performance and Mike’s carefully crafted instrumentation, “Care Less” sounds melodic and energetic from scratch to finish. McCall’s sincere, confident, and powerful vocal performance serves as the centerpiece the song. She effortlessly navigates between low, mid, and high notes, effectively highlighting Mike’s cleverly assembled themes, leads, chord progressions, and riffs. Her dynamic range adds an emotional depth to the track while simultaneously showcasing her versatility as a vocalist. The equally impressive, warm-sounding, vividly hearable low-end notes add heaviness, depth, and clarity to the riffs, while the energetic drumming provides a solid foundation and contributes to the song’s groove and pace thanks to well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics.
