Cardboard Boxer – Tunnel Vision

After three critically acclaimed full-lengths, Thai Motel, Something As It Is, Current Youth, an extended play release Resistance, and many impressive standalone singles like Must Be You, Tumultuous, Borderline, Looking Forward, Going Nowhere, Pseudo Confidence, and Growing Older, San Diego-based quartet Cardboard Boxer returns with Tunnel Vision, another exceptional composition that will appeal to all the alternative rock fans. Tunnel Vision explores the theme of being caught in a moment without realizing that life flies too fast. This song serves as a perfect continuation of their previous works, but the band also delivers some innovations in songwriting, composing, and producing. Perhaps they explore the fundamentals of alternative rock music, but more sonic ingredients are lurking around during the composition. Therefore, you’ll unquestionably stumble upon some of the finest properties borrowed from other complementary music genres like indie rock and garage rock. Of course, these additional elements serve as necessary enhancements, accentuations, and decorations, while the band remains loyal to the primary sonic direction.

As soon as you press play, you’ll notice how much brilliant ideas, time, and effort these experienced musicians invested into their latest number. Tunnel Vision bursts with some of the most impressive orchestrations you’ll hear on the contemporary alternative rock scene, and just when you thought these guys couldn’t sound any better, they’re surprising even more with jaw-dropping sonic maneuvers and rhythmic sequences. The song commences with a raw, abrasive, generously distorted chord progressions and ear-appealing vocal harmonies that perfectly match together. All of a sudden, the remainder of the band drops into the mix with even more riffs, warm-sounding basslines, and moderate drumming. They sound outstanding together during the verse, but the band shines even brighter during the choruses, where another layer of harmonious guitar leads kicks in. It’s nearly mindblowing how every instrument emphasizes another, and together they shape up such a cathartic ambiance that improves the listening experience even more. You need to hear Tunnel Vision as soon as possible because it will become your go-to track when you need a flawlessly executed modern alternative rock music. The single is available on all streaming platforms.
