Rising indie rock powerhouse Tunnel has announced her latest project, Ampersand EP, out this February 28 ahead of her South by Southwest debut. A bold step forward in sound and vision, the EP showcases Tunnel’s signature blend of shoegaze, grunge, and raw, evocative storytelling. Pre-Save Ampersand EP Here

Tunnel will celebrate the release with an official showcase at SXSW in Austin, TX, on March 12 at Low Down Lounge and an unofficial performance at Arnold House on March 11. See more here.

Ampersand EP features three tracks that explore themes of confidence, love, and emotional detachment, all wrapped in immersive soundscapes. The EP includes a collaboration with Joe Lally (Fugazi) on the title track, while Brendan Canty (Fugazi) lays down drums throughout. Produced by Owen Wuerker (Flasher), the EP expands Tunnel’s sonic territory with heavier textures, unconventional song structures, and an unapologetic embrace of distortion and noise.

“Ampersand EP gives a taste of what the upcoming full-length feels and sounds like,” shares Tunnel’s Natasha Janfaza. “It’s an exploration of dynamics—unabashed confidence, tender love, and the unraveling of apathy. I felt freer making this than ever before.”

Previously covered by Brooklyn Vegan, Atwood Magazine, Audiofemme and more, the group’s SXSW showcase marks an exciting milestone for Tunnel, bringing their cathartic, high-energy live performance to one of the most influential music festivals in the world.

Led by classically trained violinist-turned-indie rock force Natasha Janfaza, Tunnel crafts a sound that is equal parts melodic, raw, and cathartic. Drawing influence from artists like Liz Phair, My Bloody Valentine, and Knifeplay, the project is an eternal scream into the void—wrapped in pretty melodies.Tunnel has previously performed with Jerry Paper, Open Mike Eagle, Mamalarky, Maylee Todd, and Sean Nicholas Savage, among others.

Following their SXSW showcase, Tunnel will embark on a tour starting this March, bringing the Ampersand EP to audiences across the country. Additional tour dates will be announced soon.
