Montelimar – All Too Much

Let’s be honest, we all need some catchy, memorable, captivating alternative rock music in our lives. Those beautiful vocal harmonies, lush guitar work, pleasant basslines, and groovy beats help us get through hard times. It’s nearly mindblowing how good music can brighten our days, and today, we are more than thrilled to present to you a band that will, once you listen to their new single, definitely become one of your faves. Montelimar, an outstanding English band based in Tyneside, is one of those bands whose music immediately wraps around your listening apparatus and refuses to let go long after the last notes and beats fade away. With “All Too Much,” their second standalone single released today via all streaming platforms, they prove alternative rock music can still sound fresh, unique, innovative, and exciting. Sonically, “All Too Much” shines with everything you dearly love about alternative rock music, as the band incorporated all the fundamental elements of the genre in each segment, but you’ll also notice how some of the finest properties borrowed from power pop, indie rock, and rock’ n roll found their way into this sonic equation. The band tastefully, expertly, and thoughtfully blends these additional elements, using them as more than necessary enhancements that elevate the listening experience to new heights while staying loyal to the primary sonic direction. Lyrically, the song captures Montelimar’s singer Aeron at 19, walking the streets of Gateshead after a breakup, overwhelmed by heartbreak and sensory overload. The band beautifully explores various sentiments, moods, situations, and circumstances, making “All Too Much” a highly relatable piece that will immediately resonate with the audience. Therefore, it’s a perfect song that will not only appeal to longtime alternative and power pop fans but also to anyone who appreciates brilliant songwriting and outstanding musical performance.

From the onset, it becomes apparent that Montelimar poured heart and soul into this fine piece of sonic artistry. “All Too Much” is packed with many beautiful moments, lush verses, and captivating choruses. You’ll notice how soulful, passionate, sincere, confident, and powerful vocal performance serves as a centerpiece here, commanding attention, uplifting all the orchestration to an entirely new level, and guiding listeners on an epic journey through an expansive sonic universe. The vocal lines seamlessly balance low, mid, and high notes. Besides decorating all the segments and instrumentation with additional melody and harmony, the vocal performance also contributes more than necessary emotional depth and complexity to an already intricate song structure. You’ll also notice how the additional back vocals bring those anthemic vibes to the choruses, making “All Too Much” even more pleasant to the ears. The guitars play a significant role in this sonic equation, as they bring all the rawness, grittiness, and dirtiness through all those tastefully distorted, fuzzy chord progressions and riffs. Still, guitars deliver more than enough harmony and melody, perfectly pairing with all the vocal performances. They bring that sweet alternative rock, garage, rock ‘n’ roll sound over a dream pop structure. The synths offer more harmony, melody, depth, and detail with all those chord progressions, pads, and themes. Together, synths and guitars create a perfect backdrop for all the vocals to shine upon. Beneath all those lush orchestrations, you’ll hear how the intricate, warm-sounding basslines provide more heaviness, clarity, depth, and groove, all while immensely supporting synths and guitars. You’ll also hear how they blend the mentioned instrumentation with rhyhtmic patterns without ever overwhelming anything. Of course, this composition wouldn’t sound dynamic, groovy, and detailed without all those tastefully assembled, flawlessly performed, well-accented beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics. The drums keep everything in line while dictating groove and pace with ultimate precision. Every instrument has its place and purpose here, making “All Too Much” such a beautiful power pop-infused alternative rock song.

If you love your alternative rock soulful, passionate, emotive, groovy, and danceable, “All Too Much” will be a perfect pick for you. Montelimar have created a captivating song that vividly showcases their marvelous songwriting and composing abilities. It’s an alternative rock masterpiece crafted to satisfy not only longtime fans of the genre, but anyone who appreciates incredible music crafted and performed with so much heart and soul. If you truly love alternative and power pop, you should immediately place Montelimar’s “All Too Much” on your music radar. Do not miss it!
