‘Rat’  is the new single from Nothingheads, to be released as a precursor to upcoming EP ‘Sunlit Uplands’. ‘Rat’ will be released on April 21st ahead of the full EP release on June 9th , which will be available on 10’inch via Just Step Sideways Records (Beige Banquet, Civil Partnership, Tommy Cossack).

Built around a driving guitar riff, the track is a two minute aural blast of boredom induced paranoia. Recorded by Wayne Adams at Bear Bites Horse studios, it captures the ferocity and rawness of Nothingheads live show. The band say ‘The video explores a character whose reality is conspiracy and paranoia, making frenetic movements at every turn, connecting dots that do not exist but with no idea of how to piece it together.

Formed in 2020, London powerhouse Nothingheads make dissonant grooves drawing influence from post punk, psych and doom. Recent single ‘3000 Years in Showbusiness’ was released last year to acclaim, gaining radio support from Steve Lamacq, Frank Skinner and Amy Lame.

Rocks fall from the sky. The TV cuts out. A head bounces to songs covering Amazonian mines, modern super sewers and gambling in Gethsename. Nothingheads have become a mainstay in the London’s DIY live music circuit, sharing the stage with Mclusky, Wine Lips and Japanese Television amongst others. Nothingheads will play a co headline show at Oslo Hackney alongside Saint Leonard on April 26th, followed by a headline at the Shacklewell arms on June 17th with a small UK tour (TBA).
