A Moments Notice is a metalcore quintet based in Sacramento, CA. The group recently released a brand new single called Offerings. Andrew of Rogue PR sat down with the band and discussed their workflow and other details.
When did you realize that your project/band had the potential to be a career or long-lasting idea?
The band figured it out after we released the first song out of the band being a solo project, the song was called “Offerings’ ‘. Once the band started saying we had an album coming out and we started making more waves we realized this was gonna take us far.
When did the first glimpses of your latest release come together?
We had written the song in the home studio, but the song was close to where we had envisioned it to be. The song quickly became what we had imagined for the band.
What really inspires your music?
I think we all as a band wanted to do this more of a full-time thing and not be stuck in our hometown. We were inspired by people giving us the chance and we are running with the idea now.
Can you tell us a bit about the lyrical process for a song? How does it normally work?
Lyrically the songs usually are me listening to the song, over and over again until I’m damn near tired of it. The song usually doesn’t take me very long to write, i feel the song out and what is the energy it is giving off and then i move to the studio after trying to refine it and further refine it.
What’s the most rewarding moment in your creative process as a band, and why?
We would probably say when our producer makes suggestions to the music, he will hear the whole song and then we break it down and really put work into it. We trust our producer with his ear for music and take his guidance which causes us to be far more creative with each song.
Who produces your music, and what do they like to work with? (If you produce the music yourself, what do you love the most about working that way?)
We are produced by Nick Miller of A Skylit Drive. We love working with him, he has become our best friend and mentor.
Can you give us a couple of personal highlights from your live show? Particular memories that stand out to you?
We as a band haven’t had our first show together, our first show our E.P. Release is August 26th of this year and we are entirely thrilled to make some memories to remember.
What advice would you give to another upcoming band/act?
Take your time, listen to inputs and work as a team. Play into your strengths and challenge each other every day.
