Hailing from Seattle, WA, Sun Spots make distorted punk with a pop tinge that’s meant to get stuck in your head. On their new single, “Loosey”, the band channels ‘90s alternative greats like Hole and Veruca Salt, showcasing catchy melodies and grunge-adjacent tones. Vocalist Kailey almost effortlessly belts out lyrics of contemplative emotions that anyone can relate to. The accompanying video encompasses the DIY scene the band call home, performing at a house party that only elevates the vibe of the song. “Loosey” serves as the first taste of the band’s upcoming EP of the same name set for release this fall on Happy Families. It follows a string of singles the band has put out since their formation in 2019.

Speaking on the track, the band states: “‘Loosey’ is either a pop song for hardcore fans or a hardcore song for pop fans, toeing the line between melody and chaos. A song that confirms all of your feelings of despair and anxiety in the nicest way possible.”
