The Cribs have unveiled their final pre-album single, ‘Never The Same,’ just days before their new record, Selling A Vibe, drops this Friday, January 9th. The track has already secured an A-list spot on BBC 6 Music following its debut by Steve Lamacq. Interestingly, the song was originally conceived after a meeting with Louis Tomlinson’s manager, but the band became so attached to the “streamlined and stylish” result they kept it for themselves.

Lyrically, ‘Never The Same’ explores personal evolution and the chaos of the past. The accompanying music video offers a candid look at the band’s recent US tour, shot on 8mm film and self-directed by the Jarman brothers. To celebrate the release, the band kicks off a series of UK in-store shows this week, followed by a full headline tour in March. After a five-year wait, the Wakefield trio is officially back in top form.
