Today, New York duo Content Blocks unveil their new single and accompanying music video, “Beach Resort,” the latest glimpse into their forthcoming debut full-length, Hard Out, due out October 2, 2026 via STTT Records.
“Beach Resort” is an aggressive malaise about escape, high hopes, anticipation, and the inevitable feeling of it all being immediately washed away. Set against the illusion of paradise, Content Blocks’ song captures the collapse of collaboration and the quiet dread of being trapped in a situation no one has the will—or ability—to change. Trying to get off the island after day three, but we’re all stuck. The boat is sinking and illness is setting in. You wish you could fire the captain, but nobody can commandeer the ship. Everybody wants to leave, but nobody wants to move. Sun, sea, and strategic withdrawal. Wouldn’t it be nice to get away?
The music video for “Beach Resort” was directed by Frankie Rose and stars Martin, courtesy of Marina 59 in Rockaway Beach, Queens, translating the song’s tension between fantasy and futility into a striking visual counterpart.
Content Blocks is the New York duo of Matthew Hord and Ian Campbell, crafting dark, future-facing post-punk informed by industrial, Belgian EBM, synth-pop, and experimental electronics. Their debut album, Hard Out, channels the tension of contemporary life into a cold, propulsive sound shaped by the city’s architecture, technology, and perpetual unrest.
