Scottish-Portuguese indie project Forgotten Garden has beautifully captured the essence of heartbreak in their latest moody single, “Rain.” Exploring the profound sadness of a relationship breakdown, the song follows a man who walks away thinking he will be fine, only to face the crushing reality of depression—cleverly mirrored by the track’s persistent rain motifs.
Formed in 2019, the group consists of Danny from Scotland, who handles dark synths and melodic guitars, and Inês Rebelo from Portugal, whose haunting vocals evoke Florence Welch and Lana Del Rey. Backed by Argentinian bassist Mel D, the band proudly delivers a 100% organic sound completely free of AI. Described as “Lana Del Rey meets The Cure,” Forgotten Garden draws heavily from iconic post-punk influences like Joy Division and The Smiths. “Rain” delivers a beautifully poignant, melancholic soundscape perfect for alternative playlists.
