Australian musician Garth Adam has fully embraced his era as a solo singer-songwriter with the release of his highly engaging new EP, Three Fires. In the 1990s and early 2000s, Adam enjoyed a prolific career as a bassist in a renowned, internationally touring pub band. However, a transformative visit to Austin, Texas—recording at Willie Nelson’s studio—shifted his creative perspective. Inspired by the ultimate singer-songwriter town, Adam stepped into the spotlight as an indie DIY artist.
His evolving sound now sits comfortably between Neil Finn and The Lumineers, blending folk-influenced pop with intricate, Beach Boys-style vocal arrangements. Recorded at a happy, collaborative session in Perth on an analog Studer desk alongside longtime friend Dave Kelly and producer Melvin Tree, Three Fires reflects a journey of personal and physical travel.
