Released earlier this month on May 8, 2026, Condition Baker’s new EP Bennington Street is a blistering blend of raw pop-punk energy and emotionally vulnerable songwriting. Named after the East Boston street where lead singer Alec Verissimo grew up, the record is deeply rooted in themes of grief, burnout, identity, and modern disconnection.
Heavily inspired by iconic acts like Alkaline Trio, Jawbreaker, and Blink-182, the EP shifts seamlessly between fast-paced hooks and acoustic-driven moments. The standout track “BLEED” channels the suffocating frustration of the 9–5 grind, while “SOAPBOX” aggressively targets societal tribalism. Meanwhile, “BAD GAME” leans heavily into Midwest emo influences to navigate the repetition of loss. The EP ultimately closes with its acoustic title track, a beautiful, haunting ballad centered on the loss of a defining figure in the songwriter’s life. Bennington Street is a brutally honest, must-listen punk release.
