Bending Backwards has released “I See You From Here,” the lead single from their upcoming debut album, still and quiet brother are you still and quiet. Described as quietly danceable, the track moves within a space shaped by dream pop, post-punk, and shoegaze. It is built upon a steady drum pattern and a looping guitar figure, anchored by the vulnerable vocals of Frederik Blæsild Vuust.
The track utilizes minimalist and drone principles, developing through cyclical repetition rather than linear progression. Lyrically, the song was inspired by the image of a Berlin apartment, exploring the unstable space between closeness and distance. Evolving from an early instrumental cassette recording by the band when they were just a duo, the final track incorporates cello and tape loops, creating a trance-like state that pulls the listener in.
