Quiet Fear are a Los Angeles-based post-hardcore band rooted in the Chicano DIY scene, They blend the volatility of ’90s screamo with the weight and atmosphere of modern hardcore. La Tierra Arriba/El Abismo Abajo confronts systemic oppression, false authority, and social control alongside themes of isolation, fear, and personal collapse. Delivered through bilingual lyrics shaped by identity, community, and lived experience, the album balances emotional intensity with a persistent undercurrent of resistance.
Recorded by Alex Estrada at Pale Moon Ranch (Touché Amoré, Drug Church) and mastered by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Jeromes Dream), the record expands the band’s sound into heavier and more dynamic territory, shifting between overwhelming chaos and stark, atmospheric restraint while remaining raw and uncompromising throughout.
