After more than a decade of building a reputation in Melbourne’s live circuit, The Mean Times have released their long-awaited debut LP Feel More Dumb on Golden Robot Records.

Known for chaotic shows and razor-sharp wit, the band has distilled years of grit and humor into 13 tracks produced by Anna Laverty (Camp Cope, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds). The record balances raw riffs with injections of indie, Britpop, and punk, a mix that mirrors the group’s restless energy.

“These songs wrestle with the absurdity of adult life: lust without romance, grief without clarity, and the suspicion your best days were five years ago in a pub you can’t remember,” says Tom Morgan. The band’s brutally honest lyricism makes Feel More Dumb as self-aware as it is raucous.

Recorded at Head Gap Studios before its tragic fire, the album was mixed by Eoin Clements and mastered by Nao Anzai (Rolling Blackouts CF, Teskey Brothers). The result is a document of survival, wit, and rock’n’roll at its most unpolished and true.
