Gorillaz have announced their ninth studio album The Mountain, set for release on March 20, 2026 via their new label KONG. The first single, “The Happy Dictator” featuring Sparks, is available now alongside a visualizer.
Spanning 15 tracks, The Mountain is described as “a playlist for a party on the border between this world and whatever happens next,” bringing together an extraordinary roster of collaborators: Bizarrap, Black Thought, Anoushka Shankar, IDLES, Johnny Marr, Yasiin Bey, Paul Simonon, Omar Souleyman, and many more.
Recorded across London, India, the Middle East, and the US, the album embodies Gorillaz’s global, collaborative spirit. Artwork comes from co-creator Jamie Hewlett, with hand-drawn images depicting the band’s time in India.
To mark the release, Gorillaz will embark on The Mountain Tour in spring 2026, playing arenas across the UK and Ireland, plus a headline show at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on June 20 with Sparks and Trueno.
Two decades since redefining the concept of a band, Gorillaz remain a genre-defying force, still pushing boundaries with music, visuals, and imagination.
