Soulfly are back! The legendary metal act, led by Max Cavalera, has announced their new album Chama, alongside the release of a lyric video for the crushing new single Storm the Gates. The record was tracked at Platinum Underground Studio in Mesa, Arizona, with John Aquilino engineering, a longtime collaborator and close friend of the Cavalera family.
Produced by Zyon Cavalera and Arthur Rizk, the latter also responsible for mixing and mastering, Chama carries the band’s uncompromising vision into a new era. Rizk, widely recognized for shaping modern heavy metal, adds his unmistakable sonic punch to the record. The lineup sees Igor Amadeus Cavalera on bass, Mike De Leon on guitar, and a guest appearance by Fear Factory’s Dino Cazares.
Artwork was created by Carletta Parrish, giving Chama a visual identity that matches its raw, unrelenting sound. The album promises pushes Soulfly’s signature intensity further than ever, reminding of their enduring influence on global metal culture.
