Drill For Absentee To Release “Strand Of A Lake” Volume 1 And 2 Via Expert Work Records

Drill For Absentee is set to release a collection of music, Strand of a Lake Volume 1 and Volume 2 via Expert Work Records on October 24.

The band reformed earlier this decade, adding Okinawa-based drummer Ken Kuniyoshi to create and release new music. The four-song Strand of a Lake, Volume 1 EP was released digitally on September 13, 2022. Strand of a Lake, Volume 2 was completed by the band in the Summer of 2025 and both Volumes will be released exclusively by Expert Work Records in October 2025 as a double EP, 12-inch, limited-edition vinyl record (200 copies) with an even more limited-edition pressing of multicolored vinyl and a collector’s edition jacket (100 copies).

Vol. 1 sounds like a continuation of their catalog from the ’90s, while Vol. 2 has a newish progressive rock feel to it. Both volumes will appeal to fans old and new.
