Justin Webb & The Noise return with their powerful new single, “1997,” out today in partnership with Austin-based indie label Chicken Ranch Records. The track debuted today at Magnet Magazine and is on all streaming platforms for any playlist shares.

The band is also announcing a hometown release show taking place on August 9 at The Basement in Nashville. Tickets for the show are on sale now

Brimming with raw emotion and unfiltered energy, “1997” evokes a yearning for a pre-digital era — a time before screens monopolized attention and artificial intelligence became reshaped daily life.

“‘1997’ is about being fully present — embracing your creative self, and nostalgia for a time when human connection felt more tangible,” says frontman Justin Webb.

The band drew attention in late 2024 with their debut album Stupid Young, earning praise for its gritty, no-frills approach to rock. B-Side Guys hailed them as “torchbearers for a brand of rock that values heart and grit over perfection,” while Glide Magazine noted, “The band is leading the charge in the revival of authentic rock.”

“1997” builds on that foundation with a driving, analog sound and the kind of live-in-the-room chemistry that’s increasingly rare in modern music. Recorded in a single day at Blue Room Studios in Nashville, the track was produced by Jared Reynolds (Ben Folds, Hayes Carll) and engineered, mixed, and mastered by Charles Yingling.

The band brings a fierce, unified energy to every take — minimal overdubs, vintage tube amps pushed to the edge, and zero click tracks. Initially brought together by Webb to record a single for Chicken Ranch Records, the band’s undeniable chemistry quickly evolved into a full-length project. Their debut album Stupid Young was recorded at 3Sirens in Nashville with Reynolds and Joe Costa (Ben Folds, Twen, The Clutters).
