Leading into the August 22 release of their Punkerton Records full-length debut album, Sunny Side of Shitty Town, Leipzig Germany’s Skeetch gives us another taste of what to expect with the release of their single “Born 2 Lose.”

This single is the band’s ode to punk rock and what it meant to them as they grew up. The track serves as a powerful anthem for those who feel the sting of having missed punk rock’s golden era firsthand. With sharp lyrics and nods to genre-defining classics, “Born 2 Late” offers a layered experience that resonates with longtime punk fans and new listeners alike.

“Born 2 Late” is our love letter to punk rock. It’s about growing up idolizing bands we never got to see in their prime – only on reunion tours, not in sweaty basement shows. The song is packed with references to punk classics, a nod to the legends that shaped us. But more than that, it’s a reminder: you’re never too late, and never too old, for punk rock.”– Max Schlegel, Vocals in Skeetch

Skeetch Makes Their Punkerton Records Debut with Sunny Side of Shitty Town.

Finding the bright side in the mess with punk rock anthems for the lost and loud.

Skeetch’s Sunny Side of Shitty Town is an eleven track rollercoaster through punk rock nostalgia, rebellion, and self-discovery. From anthems of generational disconnect like “Born 2 Late” to biting social commentary in “Hello Mr. Officer,” and raw reflections on identity in “Spicy Memories,” the album blends high energy riffs, shout along hooks, and razor sharp wit showing that even in a shitty town there is a sunny side.

Skeetch’s Sunny Side of Shitty Town is now available for pre-order on vinyl through Punkerton Records in association with Punk Rock Radar and Cat’s Claw Records! Grab your copy today and don’t miss out on exclusive, limited-edition color variants of this stunning 12″ 140-gram vinyl release.
