Wichita Pop Punk Unit Stay The Course Released New Single “Post Traumatic”

Sometimes, things truly are meant to be. While working on Red Flag, their upcoming full-length, Stay The Course hadn’t even considered “Post Traumatic” for the tracklist. That changed when guitarist/vocalist Colby Munn sent a rough demo to frontman Joseph Meador—and just like that, the original tracklisting was reshuffled.

Serving as the second single from Red Flag, the song marks a sharp left turn from Stay The Course’s usual mix of melodic breakdowns and punchy hooks. This time, they set aside distortion in favor of acoustic instruments, added string accompaniment courtesy of Meador’s wife and eldest daughter, and handed lead vocal duties to Munn. The result is a beautifully stripped-down piece that reveals a different side of the band’s songwriting depth.

“This song is a far cry from what we normally do. Colby had sent me a demo of this song over the phone and I knew immediately that it had to go on the record, and he had to do the lead vocal on it. His songwriting is great and his voice is incredible. This song really showcases that.
