David Byrne, the enigmatic mastermind behind Talking Heads, has announced his forthcoming solo album Who Is the Sky?, due September 5 via Matador Records. The album promises to further Byrne’s legacy of genre-defying work, blending art rock with electronic textures and avant-pop flourishes.
Byrne is joined by an eclectic ensemble of collaborators, including Hayley Williams of Paramore, the ever-inventive St. Vincent, and acclaimed drummer Tom Skinner (The Smile, Sons of Kemet), each lending distinctive sonic color to an already ambitious project.
Known for fusing conceptual artistry with infectious rhythm, Byrne continues to explore existential and societal themes through deeply layered arrangements and wry lyrical insight.
Who Is the Sky? arrives as a bold new chapter for the art rock icon, a reflection on perception, identity, and the shifting emotional climate of contemporary life, delivered with Byrne’s unmistakable wit and visionary scope.
