Sonically, Spathe combines several complementary styles to depict such vivid and luxuriant sonic imagery. Perhaps post-metal comes to mind, but you’ll unquestionably notice how some of the finest properties borrowed from post-hardcore, post-rock, and alternative found their way into this marvelous composition. Spathe uses all these additional elements as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details to elevate his music to new heights while simultaneously remaining loyal to the primary sonic direction. Therefore, these experimentations with many complementary styles resulted in a profoundly complex, engaging, memorable, catchy number that will resonate not only with post-metal and post-hardcore fans but also those music enthusiasts looking for expertly assembled and flawlessly performed music.

These guitar layers are immensely detailed, complex, and progressive yet they somehow shine with a calm, soothing, relaxing, ethereal atmosphere. This collision between math rock and post-metal aesthetics makes “Colourblind” such an incredible piece worth spinning over and over again. You’ll notice how technically demanding leads, themes, melodies, harmonies, and other sonic maneuvers shine in the limelight on one side while the equally impressive, massive riffs and chord progressions resonate on the other. Through these guitar works, Spathe balances calmness and aggression during the entire composition, making “Colourblind” even more pleasant to the ears. The clever usage of distortion plays a significant role here, as guitars carry generous servings of distortion yet they sound atmospheric. In the meantime, Dyllanw Himbeault’s soulful, passionate, sincere, confident, emotional, and powerful voice elevates the entire composition to new heights, commands attention, and guides the listening apparatus from scratch to finish. His impressive vocal range seamlessly balances low, mid, and high notes with precision and finesse, emphasizing everything he intended to achieve with this track. Besides decorating all those segments and instrumentations, he contributes emotional depth and complexity to an already intricate structure.

You’ll also notice how the equally impressive, rock-solid rhythm section uplifts all these instrumentations. There are immensely powerful, vividly hearable, detailed, warm-sounding basslines rumbling beneath the guitars, offering more than necessary heaviness, clarity, and depth while simultaneously serving as a glue between guitars and rhythmic patterns. These low-ends are luxuriant, deep, dense, and heavy, contributing more power and groove to this song. In the meantime, the exceptional drumming performance based upon jaw-dropping, cleverly arranged, flawlessly performed, well-accentuated, dynamic beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics keeps everything in line while dictating groove and pace. The odd-time signatures spice things up and marvelously fit with the guitar works. You’ll hear how each hit of the snare, kick off the bass drum, and splash over the cymbal cuts through the ambiance, making “Colourblind” even more intricate. Spathe thought about everything while writing, composing, arranging, recording, and producing his latest single, so the song arrives with a perfect structure, adorned with many profoundly intricate segments, brilliant ideas, and marvelous musicianship. The artist poured heart and soul, experience, knowledge, talent, and skills into “Colourblind,” resulting in a post-metal masterpiece that will immediately grab your attention- It’s a one-of-a-kind listening experience that immediately transports you into a different realm.
