Instrumental rock innovators Signal Hill are proud to announce their latest album, Discarded Futures, in stores and online now. This milestone record marks the band’s 20th anniversary and showcases their evolution of bright, melodic, guitar-focused compositions that blend post-rock intricacy with shoegaze and 90’s emo overtones.
Discarded Futures features nine tracks spanning 48 minutes, offering listeners a journey through Signal Hill’s signature sound: crisp, high-strummed chords, slow-handed melodies, and effective hooks that create a cohesive and immersive listening experience.

This new album is the band’s first full-length release since 2016’s acclaimed Alturas, and their first new music since their split 7″ releases with Good Weather For An Airstrike and North End. The band has shared the stage with various acts such as Caspian, All India Radio, This Will Destroy You, El Ten Eleven, and many more. Signal Hill has licensed its music for various sync uses and has a song sampled in the Benny Benassi feat. John Legend’s track “Dance The Pain Away” (Ultra Records).Discarded Futures promises to build on the band’s reputation for creating music that’s “so pleasant and positive that it’s easy to overlook” any sense of familiarity in the sound.
The album will be available on all major digital platforms, with a special limited edition double vinyl release on transparent rose-colored vinyl, complete with a gatefold jacket. The release will be handled by Better Looking Records, known for their work with genre stalwarts Tristeza and The Album Leaf.
Located across various cities – London, New York City, and Los Angeles – Signal Hill’s members crafted Discarded Futures remotely, infusing the album with a unique blend of cultural influences. The recording process brought together top industry talents:
Album mixed and Drums recorded by Dax Liniere at Puzzle Factory Studios in London (known for work with Sleepmakeswaves, Solkyri)
Guitars, Bass, and Piano recorded at Two Worlds Studio with Kevin Ann Dye (member of Gates, producer for Vasudeva, Owel)
Mastering by Ed Brooks at Resonant Studios (Caspian, Minus The Bear, Death Cab For Cutie)
