I Am The Unicorn Head – You Can’t Quiet The Unicorn

You Can’t Quiet The Unicorn” is the latest track by I Am The Unicorn Head that will undoubtedly appeal to all true fans of alternative and indie rock sound. Arriving as a perfect follow-up of singles “Music For Humans,” “My Little Green Alien Friend,” “Sammy Wasn’t A Good Boy,” and extended play release “(All Hail) The Rat King,” these prolific musicians pave their path on the global scene by delivering some of the finest ideas and instrumentations you can hear nowadays. For those stumbling upon this excellent band for the first time, perhaps I Am The Unicorn Head nurtures a sound based upon the fundamentals of alternative and indie rock. Still, you’ll notice many more elements along the way. They use the mentioned music genres as a foundation while incorporating some of the finest properties borrowed from art rock, post-rock, new wave, shoegaze, and acoustic rock. These experimentations with many different but complementary music styles are more than hearable throughout “You Can’t Quiet The Unicorn,” as the band delivers their most fresh, unique, versatile track yet. They poured heart and soul into this track, so each segment and instrumentation showcases their songwriting, composing, arranging, and producing abilities.

It’s safe to say that “You Can’t Quiet The Unicorn” is a calm, soothing, relaxing, ethereal rock ballad, garnered with many additional instrumentations, maneuvers, acrobatics, and experimentations. These virtuosities are notable during each moment while the band keeps delivering a catchy, memorable, engaging musical experience. Their profound love for writing meaningful acoustic rock ballads shines through cleverly assembled, flawlessly performed chord progressions. The acoustic guitar shapes an otherwordly sonic backdrop for all the vocals to shine upon while the electric guitars occasionally or gradually build a more delicate atmosphere. These interplays slowly reveal more intricate ambiance, based upon some of the finest post-rock, psych-rock, and art-rock maneuvers. You’ll hear how the raw, abrasive, heavily distorted, powerful guitar riffs pervade from all possible sides as the song comes towards the end while the rhythmic structure and vocal performance remain intact.

Of course, there are cleverly incorporated, equally complex, audible, warm-sounding basslines lurking beneath the guitars, creating immense support for all the orchestrations while binding everything together. The heaviness, clarity, and depth provided by all those subtle basslines perfectly suit the song’s ambiance and dynamics, proving that I Am The Unicorn Head are clever songwriters and musicians who know how to deliver calm, ethereal, mesmerizing acoustic tracks with such precision and finesse. The same goes for the drumming performance. The experienced drummer keeps everything in line with half-time rhythmic structures based upon robust, well-accentuated beats, fills, and other percussive acrobatics. They also implemented layers of synth ambiance, harmonies, and melodies, giving more depth and detail to an already complex composition. Last, but not least comes an outstanding vocal performance that seamlessly balances low, mid, and high notes while emphasizing all the segments and instrumentations. These vocal harmonies command attention and guide the listeners while perfectly matching all the instrumentations.

I Am The Unicorn Head always delivers a top-notch performance to the table. That’s the case with “You Can’t Quiet The Unicorn,” a magnificent sonic display of their songwriting, composing, and producing abilities. It’s a perfect acoustic rock track garnered with some of the finest alternative and indie rock elements. The band poured heart and soul into this composition, making it such a fascinating listening experience worth repeating over and over again. “You Can’t Quiet The Unicorn” will be right up your alley if you’re looking for nearly cathartic soundscapes where calm vocal harmonies meet nearly cinematic ambiances achieved by cleverly stacking guitar and bass layers with half-time beats. The single is available on all streaming platforms. Don’t miss it!
