Bosola – Vanilla Beige

Newcastle upon Tyne alternative rock group Bosola returns with another fine piece of sonic artistry that will unquestionably appeal to anyone looking for cleverly assembled and flawlessly performed music. It’s their third piece of work in 2024, arriving as an adequate follow-up of “Comfort Disorder” and “Truth Man,” two excellent tracks released earlier this year that you should immediately check out. For those who somehow missed our previous writing about this outstanding band, Bosola embraces all the fundamental elements of alternative rock music. Their songs usually levitate between nostalgic sounds and modern production, capturing the essence of the genre. That’s the case with “Vanilla Beige,” another marvelous song where catchy, memorable, engaging guitar works and excellent vocal harmonies meet a heavy, powerful, intricate rhythm section. You’ll hear how the band continuously levitates between the mid-nineties and early noughties but still leaves enough room for some acrobatics that define contemporary music. These clever experimentations resulted in a magnificent showcase of their experience, knowledge, skills, talent, and ideas, capable of convincing even the pickiest listeners to spin this track once again.

As soon as you press play, you’ll hear how Bosola thoroughly planned everything while writing, composing, arranging, and producing their latest single. Each vocal, sonic, and rhythmic maneuvers shine with tremendous experience, proving Bosola consists of musicians who are not only excellent players but knowledgable enthusiasts deeply interested in history of the underground music. “Vanilla Beige” vividly demonstrates their profound love for writing, composing, and performing memorable alternative rock songs. This particular track arrives with a carefully arranged structure, garnered with intricate segments, brilliant ideas, and outstanding orchestrations. Everything sounds top-notch thanks to their attention to detail. They thought about even the tiniest details and nuances, making “Vanilla Beige” such a memorable listening experience worth repeating over again. The passionate, sincere, confident, powerful vocal harmonies command attention and guide the listening apparatus from beginning to end while emphasizing all those segments and instrumentations. These vocal harmonies expertly glide over low, mid, and high notes, decorating everything the remainder of the band tried to achieve with this track.

In the meantime, the cleverly arranged interplay between lead and rhythm guitars shapes a perfect backdrop for all the vocals to shine upon. You’ll hear how the generously distorted, abrasive, raw riffs and chord progressions build a colossal wall of sound while the mesmerizing leads, themes, melodies, harmonies, and other sonic delicacies spice things up and enhance this number on an entirely new level. The energetic drumming patterns based upon delicate, energetic, well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics keep everything in line and dictate groove and tempo. The equally intricate, audible, warm-sounding basslines bind guitars with rhythmic patterns while simultaneously contributing heaviness, clearness, and depth to the song. As you can see, each instrument plays a significant role in this sonic equation, and Bosola thought about everything while working on this song. “Vanilla Beige” is an alternative rock masterpiece. With so many ideas invested into such an incredible song, you’ll have a pleasant listening experience that will force you to place “Vanilla Beige” among your favorite songs this year. The song is available on all streaming platforms. Don’t miss it!
