Found Instruments – You’re Not Alone

You’re Not Alone” is the latest composition by Found Instruments, a solo recording project of singer-songwriter Jack Joseph Titcombe, known for his work with Learn to Surf and Jack Joseph Band. It’s the first piece of work in over a year, serving as an adequate follow-up of “Out Of Tune,” another excellent number released last year. Soundwise, Found Instruments combines a singer-songwriter approach with some of the finest properties borrowed from many different but complementary music genres. Perhaps dream pop comes to mind first, but you’ll also notice how some of the finest properties taken from shoegaze, downtempo, lo-fi pop, indie pop, and other similar styles found their way into this sonic equation. The artist uses all these additional sonic ingredients as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details to uplift his latest single on an entirely new level while remaining loyal to the primary sonic direction. Therefore, these experimentations with different but complementary styles resulted in a catchy, memorable, engaging track that will appeal to the broader auditorium.

With the initial notes and beats, you’ll notice how Found Instruments thought about everything while writing, composing, arranging, and producing this number. “You’re Not Alone” arrives with a perfect structure, adorned with intricate segments and beautiful instrumentations that will immediately force you to spin this track over again. Jack Joseph Titcombe’s exceptional vocal performance serves as a centerpiece of this song, commanding attention and guiding the listening apparatus through every section with such precision and finesse. The impressive vocal range marvelously balances low, mid, and high notes while emphasizing all those segments and orchestrations. His voice propels this song to new heights, making it such a pleasant listening experience worth revisiting every time you need calm, soothing, relaxing, ethereal dream pop music. In the meantime, the cleverly composed and arranged instrumentations serve as a perfect backdrop for all the vocals to shine upon. The comprehensive collection of fascinating synth leads, themes, melodies, harmonies, chord progressions, and other sonic maneuvers create a nearly cathartic ambiance that will keep you engaged from scratch to finish. Each segment carries multiple layers of these synth orchestrations, so you’ll solely enjoy it.

Of course, this composition wouldn’t sound this good without the wisely constructed rhythm section. You’ll hear how equally complex, audible, warm-sounding basslines rumble beneath the synths, offering more than necessary heaviness, depth, and clarity while binding all the mentioned orchestrations to rhythmic patterns. The subtle rhythmic sequences based upon delicate beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics keep everything in line while dictating groove and pace. Found Instruments gradually introduces drums in this sonic equation, slowly building the atmosphere and preparing the listener for what’s about to come next. “You’re Not Alone” is a masterpiece and one of the best dream pop songs you’ll hear this year. Once again, Jack Joseph Titcombe showcases his experience, knowledge, talent, and skills by merging so many ideas, orchestrations, and styles into a cohesive whole. From marvelous vocal performance and catchy synths to a rhythm section that holds everything together “You’re Not Alone” is a perfect dream pop song that demands your attention. The single is available on all streaming platforms. Don’t miss it!
