Midnight Snowball Fight – Attic

Attic” is the latest track by Midnight Snowball Fight, an excellent band formed by musicians based in Washington, Maryland, and Virginia. It’s their second piece of work in 2024, showcasing their fresh, unique, innovative, and versatile style. This number arrives as an adequate follow-up of “Dot Dot Dot,” another exceptional composition released by these highly talented musicians earlier this year. Lyrically, “Attic” speaks about Midnight Snowball Fight beginnings. It is a story about starting from scratch and gradually shaping the idea of the band without any idea what will happen next. With this song, the band pays homage to all the venues and music enthusiasts who support hard-working up-and-coming bands over the years. Soundwise, Midnight Snowball Fight combines several complementary music genres to illustrate such rich and luxurious sonic imagery. They unquestionably implemented the fundamentals of indie rock music, but don’t be surprised if you stumble upon some of the vital sonic ingredients borrowed from alternative, pop rock, and indie pop. They use all these additional sonic ingredients as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details to uplift their latest song to new heights while simultaneously remaining loyal to the primary sonic direction. Therefore, “Attic” will undoubtedly appeal to even the pickiest music enthusiast due to its catchy, memorable, engaging properties.

This song immediately grabs your attention with its irresistible vocal, sonic, and rhythmic maneuvers. From the onset, you’ll realize these folks are not joking around with their music. “Attic” arrives with a perfect structure, garnered with many detailed segments and orchestrations. They poured so much effort and ideas into this song, and you’ll unquestionably notice it. The masterful interplay between rhythm and lead guitars shapes a mesmerizing backdrop for all the vocals to shine upon. You’ll hear how the equally intricate, audible, warm-sounding basslines rumble beneath the guitars, providing more than necessary heaviness, clarity, and depth. The experienced drummer keeps everything in line while dictating groove and tempo with moderate, well-accentuated rhythmic patterns. You’ll notice how the comprehensive collection of beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics propels this song to new heights. Every band member provides a superb performance that unquestionably contributes to the overall listening experience. With their second single, Midnight Snowball Fight showcases their writing, composing, arranging, and producing abilities to the max. From exceptional vocal performance, catch melodies, and marvelous chord progressions to powerful basslines and propelling rhythms, “Attic” demonstrates all the talent and creativity of this outstanding band.
