Jitensha – Run So Fast

Run So Fast” is the latest song by Jitensha, an exceptional Canadian-based duo. It’s their second piece of work in 2024, serving as an adequate follow-up of “Holding On,” another excellent single released earlier this year. Lyrically, “Run So Fast” focuses on environment, psychology, and universal love. Soundwise, Jitensha combines many different but complementary music genres to illustrate such rich and luxurious sonic imagery. Perhaps indie pop comes to mind first but this mesmerizing composition also resonates with some nostalgia thanks to sonic ingredients borrowed from dream pop, psychedelic pop, neo-psychedelia, surf rock, and the fifties rock ‘n’ roll. They use all these additional elements as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details to uplift their music to new heights while simultaneously remaining loyal to the primary sonic direction. Therefore, “Run So Fast” will immediately appeal to anyone looking for catchy, engaging, memorable indie pop music thanks to Jitensha’s attention to detail and level experimentation with many different but complementary music genres.

As soon as you press play, you’ll hear how Jitensha thought about everything while writing, composing, arranging, recording, and producing their song. “Run So Fast” has a perfect song structure, garnered with so many detailed segments, brilliant ideas, and outstanding instrumentations. Marvelous vocal harmonies play a significant role in this sonic equation, as they serve as a centerpiece, decorating all those segments and orchestrations. You’ll hear all the vocal interplays lurking around, seamlessly balancing low, mid, and high notes while commanding attention and guiding the listening apparatus from beginning to end. Still, these are not the only inteplays you’ll stumble upon this ear-appealing sonic journey. Quite the contrary, you’ll hear how the synths deliver many cleverly assembled themes, leads, melodies, harmonies, chord progressions, sequences, ambiances, and many other sonic delicacies. Together, they shape a perfect backdrop for all the vocals to shine upon. In the meantime, the semi-distorted guitars resonate with delicate chord progressions, giving more depth to this indie pop masterpiece.

This song wouldn’t sound this good without a rock-solid rhythm section. You’ll notice how subtle but vividly hearable, warm-sounding basslines rumble beneath all the instrumental layers, offering more heaviness, clarity, and depth while binding guitars and synths with the drums. The excellent drumming performance is based upon moderate, well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics keeping the remainder of the instrumentations in line while dictating the groove and tempo. Jitensha paid attention to everything while assembling this indie pop masterpiece. Their music resonates with many mesmerizing sonic maneuvers while the vocal interplays play an integral part in engaging listeners in the entire process. They will hold you tied and hypnotized during the entire sonic journey, thanks to their ability to merge so many different but complementary styles together. They created a magnificent song worth repeating over and over again. The single is available on all streaming platforms. Don’t miss it!
