Hunting Lions Released New Single & Video “You And Me”

HUNTING LIONS have just dropped their new single “You And Me” ahead of their upcoming European tour from May 24 – June 8. The song is available on all streaming platforms, as a music video, and a FREE picture flexi. Yes, that’s right, a FREE picture flexi with any purchase on the Pirates Press Records webstore.

“You And Me” is a song that singer Ben Coleman holds close to his heart. “The song is about a fight that I got into back in 1985 when a couple buddies and I ran into a group of Nazi “skins” on our way to a show. This was the first of many fights, beatdowns and altercations we’d have with the different Righty groups back then,” he explains. “The song tells a story of a short moment in time, but it represents a formative, coming of age period in my life. The friendships I made back then have lasted. The ideologies of anti-racism and punk/skinhead/outsider unity have lasted. My love for subculture and subculture music has lasted,” adds Coleman.

Along with the song comes both a free picture flexi and the music video. The flexi art was taken from early animation sketches that renowned tattoo artist Dannyboy Smith was doing for the video. Then, Pirates Press Records owner had the idea of taking a still from the animation and making it into a negative for the picture flexi.

For the video, the band recruited videographer Paul Stevens to bring the video vision to life. “I thought the flyers from the shows we went to and photos of our crews back in the day set to the music we’re making today would represent a full circle of subculture life. It’s always been You & Me against all of them!” exclaims Coleman.

With a background rooted in Northern California acts like Swingin’ Utters, Roadside Bombs, and US Bombs, Hunting Lions bring a wealth of experience to the table.

“King of the Avenue” is the band’s debut LP which was released early in 2024 – a raw, unfiltered expression of life’s highs and lows detailed through Ben Coleman’s melodic and powerful voice. This record isn’t just a collection of tracks; it’s a blending of the unapologetic energy of their previous EPs, “Light” and “Dark,” into a cohesive narrative. It encapsulates the band’s evolution, embracing the diversity of their other bands to create a well-rounded rock ‘n roll sound with a punk attitude.

In “King of the Avenue,” Hunting Lions explores the human experience with unflinching honesty. Each track tells a story, exploring themes of love, loss, and the ever-changing dynamics of life. The album embodies the spirit of the Bay Area punk scene – a tight-knit community where passion and creativity know no limits. “You And Me” continues this theme!
