Riding With Killers – Novelty

Novelty” is the latest single by Riding With Killers, a Detroit, Michigan-based trio featuring Taproot guitarist Taylor Roberts. It’s one of the songs borrowed from “Full Circle,” their outstanding debut full-length album released several weeks ago. Soundwise, Riding With Killers combines a comprehensive collection of complementary music genres to illustrate such rich and luxurious sonic imagery. Perhaps modern rock comes to mind first, but don’t be surprised if you stumble upon alternative rock, alternative metal, nu-metal, grunge, indie rock, etc. Riding With Killers uses these additional elements as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details to uplift their number on an entirely new level, while the band remains loyal to the primary sonic direction. Therefore, this experimentations with different but complementary styles resulted in a magnificent modern rock song that will appeal to even the pickiest fans of the genre and beyond.

Their experience, knowledge, skills, talents, ideas, and musicianship make them standouts on the contemporary scene. They break all the rules and shapeshift the boundaries of the mentioned genres with their tremendous ideas and exceptional musicianship, which are omnipresent from scratch to finish. You’ll immediately notice how guitars shine in every segment, serving as a perfect backdrop for the vocals with all the cleverly assembled chord progressions, riffs, melodies, themes, and leads. The outstanding vocal performance emphasizes these instrumentations by flawlessly balancing low, mid, and high notes. “Novelty” wouldn’t sound this good without these vocal harmonies, and the singer undoubtedly steals the show here. The equally complex, vividly hearable, warm-sounding basslines provide more than necessary heaviness, depth, and clarity, but also serve as binding elements between guitars and drums. The experienced drummer offers half-time, well-accentuated rhythmic sequences that unquestionably keep the remainder of the band in line. Everything sounds top-notch from scratch to finish, making “Novelty” one of the greatest alternative songs ever.

As soon as you press your play, you’ll notice that Riding With Killers aren’t joking around with their music. They thoroughly planned every segment, detail, and nuance, offering a tremendous listening experience to all the true fans of the mentioned genres. You’ll hear every vocal articulation, acoustic chord progression, powerful riff, heavy bassline, and intricate beat with such ease, thanks to the sound that meets all the trends in modern music production. “Novelty” is one of those songs that forces you to dive deep into the remainder of the album, which sounds magnificent by all means. Therefore, you should immediately check out Riding With Killers and “Novelty,” because they will become your go-to track whenever you need nu-metal-infused modern rock music. The single is available on all streaming services.
