Actve Captve – Safe N Sound

“Safe N Sound” is a new single by Actve Captve, an Austin-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and artist. This song comes as an adequate follow-up to “I Can’t Explain,” “Absolutely (Story Of A Girl),” and “Saudazed,” three outstanding singles released earlier this year. Soundwise, Actve Captve combines several complementary music genres to illustrate such rich and luxurious sonic imagery. He incorporates some of the finest elements of disco, synth wave, synth pop, and indie pop with much heavier sonic ingredients borrowed from alternative, modern rock, hard rock, and many more. Actve Captve uses these additional elements as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details that uplift his latest single on an entirely new level, while the artist continuously transitions music genres with such ease. Therefore, these experimentations with different but complementary styles resulted in a catchy, danceable, ear-appealing composition that will appeal to your ears no matter which genre you prefer.

It’s nearly mindblowing how “Safe N Sound” continuously levitates between contemporary and retro sound. Actve Captve thoroughly thought about this detail, as every segment comes with many carefully, wisely assembled instrumentations, arrangements, and other qualities that put this song as one of the best indie tracks this year. The guitars play a significant role in this sonic equation, with all the reverby themes and leads pairing catchy melodies, chord progressions, and riffs. The rhythm and lead guitars continuously duel for dominance, providing an exciting take on multiple music genres at once. You’ll even notice how progressive, ambient, experimental, and post-rock found their way into this fine piece of sonic equation, thanks to the wondrously arranged and flawlessly recorded guitar works. Of course, “Safe N Sound” wouldn’t sound this good without equally complex, vividly hearable, warm-sounding basslines that provide heaviness, depth, and clarity, but also serve as a binding element between guitars and drums. The outstanding drumming based on energetic, well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics offers groove and pace but also makes this track danceable.

Actve Captve thoughts about everything while writing, composing, arranging, recording, and producing “Safe N Sound,” and you’ll notice how much effort this clever, skillful artist invested into his latest single. It’s one of those songs that immediately gets into your ears and refuses to let go. “Safe N Sound” serves as a title track of Actve Captve’s latest EP, so you should put this number and the remainder of the material on your radar as soon as possible because this artist deserves your utmost attention. His talent, ideas, and musicianship shine throughout the entire song, proving he’s one of the most innovative, creative, and intelligent artists on the contemporary scene. The single and EP are available on all streaming platforms.
