Silver Shores – Spitting Image

Spitting Image” is the latest single by Silver Shores, an Oakland-based alternative rock group. It’s a perfect follow-up to “Open Road,” another exceptional track these skillful musicians released earlier this year. Perhaps Silver Shores almost solely rely upon the fundamentals of an alternative rock sound, but you’ll notice how some other complementary music genres found their way into this ear-appealing sonic equation. Don’t be surprised if you stumble upon many sonic ingredients borrowed from psych-rock, indie rock, shoegaze, and dream pop. Silver Shores used these additional elements as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details to uplift their latest number on a new level, while the band remains loyal to the primary sonic direction. Therefore, these experimentations with different styles resulted in a mesmerizing composition that will appeal to your listening apparatus no matter which style you prefer.

Silver Shores thoroughly planned even the tiniest details while assembling “Spitting Image.” You’ll immediately notice how guitars shape such a calm, soothing, relaxing, ethereal atmosphere with many intricate sonic maneuvers. The catchy riffs, chord progressions, melodies, harmonies, themes, and leads serve as a perfect backdrop for a magnificent vocal performance, which glides over low, mid, and high notes with such ease. The vocals are the centerpiece of the track that not only decorate every segment and instrumentation but also give more complexity to the mix. Silver Shores also thought about the low-end side of the sonic spectrum, so you’ll also hear how equally complex, vividly hearable, warm-sounding basslines provide more heaviness, clarity, and depth, but also serve as a binding element between guitars and drums. The half-time rhythmic properties undoubtedly give a downtempo feel to this song, and you’ll be surprised by the comprehensive collection of cleverly constructed, flawlessly performed, well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics.

Everything sounds top-notch, thanks to the efforts of the entire band. Silver Shores invested all their experience, knowledge, skills, talent, ideas, and musicianship into “Spitting Image,” so you’ll have a wonderful time listening to this song. The combination of different but complementary styles makes this composition even more ear-appealing, and these folks prove they’re versatile musicians who know how to write and compose a song in any music genre. You should immediately put Silver Shores and their latest single on your radar, because “Spitting Image” will instantly become your go-to track whenever you need flawlessly executed alternative rock music. The single is available on all streaming platforms.
